Branson's Tour Guide

Question Of The Week: If YOU could change one thing about Branson, what would it be?

The Branson community has sometimes been accused of being "too positive" and only looking at the upside of things while glossing over problems.  We at Branson's Tour Guide feel there should be a balance in truth, debate and healthy

criticism.  So, we're going to do an experiment over the next few weeks by asking a question and giving YOU the opportunity to answer truthfully and anonymously (if you like).

Of course we would prefer to know your name but we will respect your privacy if you choose not to reveal your identity (unless you get to crazy and we have too call the cops).

We love Branson but wish things were open later! When the shows let out, there are MANY people out and about and not much to do for a family.

What's up with that Branson?

Be mindful of who is visiting Branson and how often they visit. The young people that are coming with their parents or grandparents may want to return one day. Branson needs a better way to retain those people and appeal to all ages so that the children visiting today will bring THEIR children 20 years later.

I've been coming to Branson for over 30 years and love it there, but I've noticed during our last few visits that the 76 Strip has been going downhill. I know the tornado in 2012 did quite a bit of damage and there has been a lot of rebuilding but it really needs a facelift. I love Branson Landing but I think it took a lot of business away from the shops on and around the strip. When first time visitors come to town and see theaters, shops and even the old Celebration City property sitting empty, it doesn't give a good impression. I hope something is done soon to make improvements so visitors will keep coming back.

Pass an etiquette law that says the tourists have to be nice to the locals or leave.....

Why don't more shows offer family passes?

Better roads for easier and faster traffic flow. Finishing the bypass loop on the south side would ease traffic, and widening H76 to a 4-lane would be awesome.

I will echo the earlier comments about things looking a little shabby. A coat of paint, some weeding and a bulldozer would do the place some good. And I'd like to see less empty concrete lots and more green space again. There are a too many depressing eyesores and none more so than Celebration City. That wooden coaster is a constant reminder of something that failed miserably. At this point no one will be able to use it without sinking a ton of money into rehab, and the property owners need to be made to remove it. The concrete slabs need to come up and grass and trees replanted.
